WODdoc Tactical Workout of The Week #002

Hi team! This has been a project I have been trying to get started for awhile now but haven't had sufficient time to get it off the ground. No excuses.


The goal is to release weekly workouts on FRIDAYS! Some workouts will be firearms only, some fitness only, but the vast majoritty will be a combination of the two. I know not everyone has a range they can run and gun on so at least initially we will be focusing on fitness + dry fire.


This will only be fun if you all participate. So I encourage all of you to post your scores and interact with others who are doing the same. Here is to starting something new and fun.

Workout #002 - Row and Shoot

This is a dryfire only workout! Please click here to download the target used in this workout.


Complete the following:

8 Rounds 300m row with 1:10 rest.

During rest 10 dry fire shots, standing, unsupported.

Shoot medium sized middle target of the WDT dry fire target.

Target distance 15 feet.


Rower set-up: If you have a concept 2 rower. Select new workout - interval workout - interval distance. Then set distance to 300m and rest to 1:10. Optional select a pace.


If you are new to rowing I would suggest doing a 500m row warm-up at a comfortable pace. I would use the average pace of that warm-up as my goal pace for the 8 intervals. If you are a seasoned rower pick a challenging but attainable pace that you can hold consistent for all intervals.


The flow goes like this. Have your unloaded firearm next to your rower. Complete your first row interval and during the rest period stand and fire 10 dry fire shots. If you are using a laser count your hits. Rest the remaining time and repeat the cycle 7 more times.


Score: Record the pace you chose + total hits (example: 1:55 pace + 70/80)


Things WDT Recommends

If you are going to participate in WDT Workouts I suggest you invest in the following. These are the items I specifically use and train with. I know they work and that's why I suggest them. However feel free to purchase whatever similar ones you like:

  1. Pink Rhino - 9mm Laser Cartridge - this is a laser cartridge that is placed into your pistol and provides a momentary red laser flash when you pull the trigger.

  2. TARYAG - 223/55.6 Laser Cartridge - same as the above laser cartage but in rifle caliber. I have tried several of these and this is the one I found works the best.

  3. G-site Laser Training App - This is the app I use to record and objectively tract all my dry fire training.

  4. WDT - Workout of the Week Dry-Fire Target
